To whom it may concern,
We had Rick Minniefield come to Plumas County as a motivational guest speaker. He has a wonderful outlook in dealing with high school youth. When we were traveling around the schools, the youth of our county took great interest in what he had to say at each of our four high schools. The high schools are a different community unto themselves—we have lots of diversity in these areas from the poor to the rich, from depressed logging communities to vacation lake resorts.
The youth of our communities are challenged with drugs,
alcohol and adult neglect. When Rick came to our Quincy High School, it
had just gone through a terrible experience where one of the youth had
taken his life with a gun. Rick was supporting and helpful in his speech
with this issue. Many youth and teachers came and talked with him after
the speech and found support and comfort, there was not a dry tear in
the house. Rick is a very motivated speaker and has a heart of gold. He
is a great asset to the State of California and the world we live in.
We need more people like Rick Minniefield.
